Ståle: A strong comeback against SøE
Manager Ståle Solbakken believes the first 45 minutes of F.C. Copenhagen’s clash with SønderjyskE was the best of the season and was pleased with the strong comeback that secured the 3-2 win.
"Our first half was probably the best we have played this season. Among other things, we came up with five big chances. We were in total control of the match and I don’t think SønderjyskE had a single shot,” Ståle said.
While F.C. Copenhagen dominated the first half, they failed to score enough goals to prevent a spirited SøE resurgence in the second half.
“Almost out of nowhere we were 2-1 down,” Ståle added
“We were collectively at fault for the first goal, and the second Robin Olsen completely missed the ball. The two goals meant that were a little stressed for the next five to 10 minutes."
Thankfully for FCK, the result went their way as Benjamin Verbic and then Andrija Pavlovic secured the 3-2 triumph.
“Our substitutes came in and helped make a difference,” Ståle said.
“All in all, we created about 10 great chances and we also showed that we have good mental reserves - and all that on a day when we had everything going against us for a while.
“It’s a strong comeback from the team - and I'm happy with today's effort.”
