Ståle: Vardar tie not over yet
"The result is fair, they were a goal better than us today,” said Ståle after the Champions League third-round qualifying loss in Skopje.
“We only had two chances against their four, and their offensive players were good and provoked trouble.
“It's not decided yet, but 1-0 is a bad one.
“But it is still possible, we do not have a mountain to climb, but a hill is what we need to get up.
"We were not really comfortable with the ball today and made some stupid mistakes. We are struggling with our rhythm at the moment. I do not think we are badly organised defensively but we make some individual defensive mistakes.
“Our aim to score was quite clear because it's always better with an away goal - and we had the chances to do it.”
The return leg takes place in Telia Parken at 8pm on 2 August. Buy your tickets for the match here.
