Thorup: We must look forward
F.C. Copenhagen head coach Jess Thorup says the team is still in a "good position" in the Danish title race despite the 1-0 defeat to Randers on Sunday.
The Lions couldn't breach a solid Randers defence in Parken and surrendered three points at home for the first time since November.
The defeat still leaves FCK six points clear of second-placed FC Midtjylland, whose game in hand against Brøndby is played on Monday evening.
And Thorup says the quality across all six teams in the Danish Superliga's Championship Round was evident at the weekend.
"There is of course great disappointment right now after the match, but we have to head home and watch the game back, and evaluate it more closely," says Thorup.
"We were prepared for it to be difficult and especially if we didn't play to our level, which we didn't do either individually or collectively. If you do this then you get problems in the Superliga.
"We create far too little today. We still had chances to score, even though they may have been half-chances. We played a poor game and didn't combine enough offensively at all.
"But we have lost one match and three points, and no matter how things go between FCM and Brøndby, we are still in a good position before we head to Herning on Sunday. We will still be at least three points ahead and have a good goal difference, so we have to look forward once again.
"I always expected the championship would be be decided in the last rounds of the season, and we still taking it one match at a time, and focusing on correcting what did not achieve today."
