Varela: Going for big win on Sunday

F.C. Copenhagen full-back Guillermo Varela is gunning for a victory when league leaders FC Midtjylland come to town on Sunday.

FCK take on FCM - who are eight points ahead of the Lions in the 3F Superliga - in a crunch tie in Telia Parken at 8pm.

“It will certainly be an exciting and important match for both teams, and we are always looking forward to great matches," Varela said.

"We are going to target dominating the match and setting the agenda, even though we know that FC Midtjylland are a very strong team that will also challenge us during the match.

"We need to go after three points and try to get closer to them at the top of the table, while keeping at bay those behind us. That's why it's a very important match."

On his own game, Varela added: “I feel that my form is good and that the team has done well after we started again, without it being perfect.

"We still lack some players that are out with injuries, but everyone is working hard to produce good performances and results.

"On Sunday we definitely have to play our best to beat FC Midtjylland, but we play at home and FCK must always chase the victory there. We will do that on Sunday as well.

"We love big matches, so even if we miss our fans a lot, we will do everything to give them a good fight."
