Denis Vavro joins FCK

F.C. Copenhagen have signed a five-year contract with Slovakian central defender Denis Vavro from MSK Zilina.

”He is a young and very talented player, and we have followed him for a long period. We also got the opportunity to study him closely in our two Champions League qualification games against MSK Zilina, where he also performed very well," says FCK manager Ståle Solbakken.

"He is physically strong and has shown great stability over a long period in Zilina, and he also has experience from the U21 national team, even though the competition is tough in his position. Obviously he can still develop, and there is also an issue of the language barrier, so we won't put too much pressure on him from day one. But I think we will soon see him in action and we look forward to working with him and helping him fulfill his potential as a top class defender."

Vavro himself said: "I am proud and happy to get this opportunity to come to a club like F.C. Copenhagen.

"I know the club from Zilina's two games against them, and I got a really good impression about the club, their fans and the impressive stadium in Copenhagen."

Vavro will wear the no.19 shirt at FCK.
