Conference League qualifier moved to Kazan
F.C. Copenhagen will head back to Kazan for the first time in a decade after the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifier against Torpedo-BelAZ Zhodino was moved.
The Lions' away clash with Torpedo-BelAZ cannot be played in Belarus and will instead be staged at the Tsentralnyi (Central) Stadium in Russia's city of Kazan.
Return to the Tsentralnyi Stadium
This was also the venue for FCK's Champions League group match with Rubin Kazan in 2010, when we lost 1-0. This summer's rescheduled game will not be held at the city's new stadium, Ak Bars Arena, which was used during the World Cup in 2018.
No spectators in Kazan
While the new stadium holds approx 45,000 spectators, the Tsentralnyi Stadium has a 25,000 capacity. However, there will be no spectators for the showdown, which will be played on Thursday 29 July.
On the other hand, FCK will welcome fans to Parken for the home leg on Thursday 22 July. More information about tickets will follow soon, but with a platinum card you are guaranteed a permanent place for all European home matches - and the other cards and subscriptions give a right of first refusal.
Away goals rule dropped
UEFA have also announced that they have abolished the long-standing away goals rule in their competitions. Instead, tied encounters will head to extra time and, if required, be decided on penalties.
