Josephine Lech: F.C. Copenhagen Women's first ever signing
Josephine Lech goes down in the history books of F.C. Copenhagen as the first signing for the club's women's team.
Lech arrives from FC Rosengård and will be part of the squad in Copenhagen from the new season.
The 20-year-old striker has played at Swedish side FC Rosengård for the past six years. Now she will be part of the squad that will form the first women's team at FCK in 2024/25.
"It is historic and really special that, for the first time, we can present an new signing for our team, and we are really happy that a talented player like Josephine can see herself as part of the journey and development we are on, ” says Rebecca Steele, Head of Women's football at FCK.
For Lech, the switch to F.C. Copenhagen a big step, even though she is moving from a big European club like FC Rosengård.
"It's a really interesting and big project that FCK are on, and this gives me the opportunity to be a part of it," she says.
"I am really looking forward to that and I will do everything I can to contribute, so that both FCK and women's football in Copenhagen more broadly can grow. It will be both fun and exciting to be part of."
FCK expect to present several new players in the coming weeks, as the squad evolves ahead of the new season.
"We have a good base in the current FC Damsø squad, where there are many talented players, but we will also supplement the squad with more external signings," adds Rebecca.
"We are experiencing a great deal of interest in becoming part of the club and the project, so we're looking very positively at the possibilities of putting together a strong team."
Everyone at FCK would like to welcome Josephine to the club and the city.
