Amin Chiakha extends FCK contract
F.C. Copenhagen have agreed to extend the contract of young striker Amin Chiakha for the next three years.
Chiakha, 16, has both Danish and Algerian roots and joined FCK from Sundby Boldklub as an U12 player.
"Amin is a classic striker - a real No 9 who has international potential that we must release together in the coming years," says says development director Sune Smith-Nielsen. "He has a physically, tactically and technically strong package with all the necessary skills to become a big name in his position.
"Once again, it is a great pleasure for us that a player from one of our many partner clubs can take the next step here at FCK and extend their contract.
"There is a lot of hard work ahead for Amin, and we look forward to continuing to follow his development in the coming years.
Chiakha has scored 12 goals in the U17 league this season, placing him second on the top scorer list.
"It's a big day for me and my family - and being able to extend my deal with the club is something I've worked for and dreamed about since I got my first contract," says Chiakha, who is also on the Danish U17 team.
"I received my football upbringing in Sundby, a club that still means a lot to me and which has always helped me.
"I love to score goals and I always have, and I look forward to continuing to do so.
"The next step for me is to break through to the U19 team and hopefully help us win both U17 and U19 championship again. And then, of course, at some point to go all the way up to the first team, that's every player's dream."
