Elyounoussi: We must be at our max to beat Bayern
F.C. Copenhagen's Mohammed Elyounoussi says tonight's UEFA Champions League clash with Bayern Munich in Parken will be a night to remember – and the players want to send the fans home with three points.
FCK earned a 2-2 draw at Galatasaray in their first Group A game last month, and welcome German champions Bayern to the Danish capital tonight (9pm).
"They are a difficult opponent who are favorites in this group, but this is the kind of match you want to play in and especially at Parken," says Elyounoussi.
"The big European nights in Parken are always special. FCK have previously had success with European games here, so I hope the same will happen again tonight.
Parken can make the difference
"I like playing evening games. It's always special to play at home with our fans behind us, both in Sektion 12 and in the other parts of the stadium. My family will be there too, so it means a lot to me. We have prepared well and are very ready for the match."
The team must perform to the max
Elyounoussi scored the opening goal for FCK in their draw in Istanbul last month. He admits the Danish champions need to be at their best again if they are to get anything from tonight's game.
"As a team, we must perform at the absolute best, we must reach our highest level, everyone in the team must have their best day when facing such a good opponent," he adds.
"It is up to us to be efficient and take advantage of the chances we get. They have good players in individual positions, but I think that as a team we have the opportunity to take some points.
"Every match has its own life, but there was a lot of positive to take away from the game in Turkey. We also have to learn from our mistakes. The most important thing is that we go into the game with great faith in what we can do as a team. We have confidence and we have the fans behind us."
