FCK sign Ruben Gabrielsen
F.C. Copenhagen have signed 29-year-old defender Ruben Gabrielsen on loan from French side Toulouse FC until the New Year.
Gabrielsen, who plays at centre-back, has one international cap for Norway and represented his country on 45 occasions at youth level.
Before moving to Toulouse he played for Lillestrøm and Molde in his home country, where he won two championships and participated in the Europa League group stage.
PC: We're now well covered
"We needed an improved squad depth in that position, and Ruben is a player with great experience who covers us well there," says Peter Christiansen, Sporting Director at F.C. Copenhagen.
"He is strong and very athletic player, just as he is technically well grounded. We see him as a quality player who can contribute from day one, and we now feel that we have good coverage in that position for an autumn that has plenty of matches scheduled."
Gabrielsen: Part of a club playing in Europe
Gabrielsen, who is currently on international duty with the Norwegian national team, played as captain at both Molde and Toulouse, and is looking forward to his time in Copenhagen.
"FCK are a big club and I am very much looking forward to being a part of it," he said.
"All Scandinavian players know that FCK have huge ambitions, and I come to contribute to those with everything I can. I want to show myself on the training ground and for me it is not just a short stay on loan, but a great opportunity to be part of a club at an international level. I will live up to that from day one."
Gabrielsen will wear shirt number 4 at FCK. His first training session will come after his duties with Norway are over. Everyone at the club would like to welcome Ruben to Copenhagen.
