Hunor Németh promoted to first-team squad
Seventeen-year-old Hunor Németh has trained with F.C. Copenhagen’s first-team squad throughout the winter and has made such a good impression that he has been promoted on a permanent basis.
Hungarian-born Németh came to Denmark at the age of three and has played at both KB and FCK Talent since he was eight. He also represents Hungary at youth level.
"We have never had any doubts about the qualities that Hunor possesses, but it is always a question of when you are ready to take the next steps,” says FCK sports director Sune Smith-Nielsen.
“Hunor has shown through good training and performances in our friendly matches in the winter that he is ready to take the next step in his development.
"Hunor is a top international talent who plays in the centre of midfield. He has a great engine, good technique and great tactical understanding. He has an excellent mentality and is able to perform under pressure.
"He constantly aims to become a better version of himself, and we look forward to developing him more and seeing him take the next step towards competing in the first-team squad.”
Discussing the move up to the first team, Németh says:
“This winter has been a great learning period for me, which I was very excited about before starting. I am really happy that I have delivered what was required and I can therefore look forward to training regularly with the first-team squad.
“It’s been special to train with players who I’ve looked up to and dreamed of being around for a long time. It is big for me, and now it’s about setting the next goals. It’s about making my debut in the first team, and then quietly being able to compete for places in the team.”
