Michael Santos loaned to CD Leganés
F.C. Copenhagen have loaned out striker Michael Santos to Spanish Segunda División club CD Leganés on a season-long deal.
Santos joined FCK from Malaga a year ago, and has played 36 games and scored nine goals for the Lions.
"We are actually very happy with Michael and think he has done well. He was a key contributor for us entering the Europa League group stage last season, where he almost came into the squad directly from the airport and made a difference," said FCK manager Ståle Solbakken.
"However, we also have a competitive situation in his position now that Jonas Wind and Kamil Wilczek have joined, and that means that Michael would play a smaller role.
"This, combined with financial considerations, makes this a good solution for all parties. Now Michael gets the opportunity to play in a league he has done well in before and show how good a player he is next season, and then we have to see what happens after that."
Santos himself considers his time at FCK to be a positive one.
"I have had a really good time at the club and in the city, both of which are fantastic," he said.
"Of course I would like to play a lot of matches and Ståle has been completely honest and fair to me.
"I look forward to coming back to Spain, where I have had a good time before, and then we will have to see what the future brings after that."
