Neestrup: Defeat 'really hurts'
F.C. Copenhagen head coach Jacob Neestrup admits the 1-0 loss in Sunday's derby against Brøndby was a big blow, particularly with it coming in front of a full house in Parken.
"It is obviously a huge disappointment to lose, especially with it being a derby in such a fantastic atmosphere with 35,000 in the stands," says Neestrup.
"It really, really hurts deep right now, but tomorrow we have to put the disappointment behind us and move on.
"We must remember that we have worked very hard to get to this position, where we still have everything in our hands.
"Today we didn't get enough benefit from our attacking game, where they defended very deep, and we found it difficult to break that down. We didn't take good enough care of the opportunities we created when we broke their press and unbalanced them.
"We too often played too slowly and didn't create enough chances for the amount of ball we had. But we were able to solve this issue earlier in the spring against teams that were defending deep, so we have to get back to that.
"The situation is as it is, and as I said, there is only one thing to do. Allow us to be really disappointed right now, but there is an important Danish Cup semi-final coming up on Thursday and a league match again on Monday against Nordsjælland."
