Neestrup previews Randers clash: We must deliver yet again
F.C. Copenhagen travel to Randers FC on Easter Monday for a 4pm clash in the Danish Superliga, and the second game of the Championship Round.
Last week's 2-1 win over FC Nordsjælland means FCK head into the tie with a two-point gap at the top of the table.
And boss Jacob Neestrup is keen to make it 10 wins on the bounce this spring.
"We have been strong and stable over a long period of time, but all games in this phase of the season are difficult, so we must again deliver a strong performance in Randers," says Neestrup.
"Randers are a well-drilled team. They always work hard and are well organised. They know what they are good at as a team and they have some individual attacking players who, with their speed and physicality, can hurt the opponents.
"We respect them as an opponent, but we also know that we have the qualities to win the game if we are again sharp in our best periods and stable in our less good ones."
FCK and Randers have shared away wins in their first two clashes against each other this term. In October Mohamed Daramy and Lukas Lerager got the goals in a 2-0 triumph for the Lions.
"It's always a close game against Randers away from home, but we will of course go there to be in control as much as possible," adds Neestrup.
As far as his team selection is concerned, Neestrup has Jordan Larsson back after injury, while Elias Jelert and Kevin Diks have served their suspensions. David Khocholava is still not match fit after he came off against FC Nordsjælland, and Marko Stamenic has been suffering from an illness.
"We came through the match against Vejle in the cup well, and the squad has shown for a long time how strong and broad it is, so I think we are in a good position," adds Neestrup.
