Sørensen: It'll be special to face Viborg
F.C. Copenhagen return to Parken on Sunday for another round of the Danish Superliga, this time against Viborg. And for FCK full-back Christian Sørensen, playing against his former team will be a special occasion.
"It's special to face Viborg. I had a really good time at the club and I still have a good relationship with many people there," says Sørensen.
"Unfortunately, I missed the last game here with an injury, so I'm looking forward to the opportunity this time."
'We need to get back on track'
FCK head into Sunday's clash – which is expected to be a sell-out – having just ended a nine-game winning streak in the Danish Superliga with the 1-0 loss at Randers.
But Sørensen is confident the Lions can bounce back and set the title pace again.
"We have discussed the match at Randers and everyone agrees that it was an unsatisfactory performance," says Sørensen. "We will lose games now and then, but we have to perform better than we did.
"We have an opportunity to rectify that a bit on Sunday, and we need to get back on track quickly with a strong performance."
Viborg clash will be close
There are now just eight games of the Championship Round remaining in the 3F Superliga, and FCK sit in second place – a point off leaders FC Nordsjælland. Viborg are only five points behind the Lions in third, which makes Sunday's clash even more important.
"Viborg are a strong unit with a clear identity on the field, and they also have some talented individuals who will try to test us defensively," says Sørensen.
"So I expect a close and intense game, and we'll have to take control and dominate as we always seek to in Parken.
"It has been really crazy to play in Parken this season, where match after match there has been massive support and so many fans. We want to give them another good experience on Sunday. It starts with a good performance, so that's what we're preparing to deliver this week."
