FCK win 2022/23 Danish Cup
Diogo Gonçalves' second-half goal was enough to secure F.C. Copenhagen victory in the Danish Cup final on Thursday in front of more than 34,000 fans inside Parken Stadium.
Despite injuries to the team suffered before and during the final, it was the Lions who emerged victorious 1-0 thanks to Gonçalves' instinctive strike.
The forward finished into the top-right corner from just inside the box on 48 minutes after the ball had spilled to him.
It was a game of very few chances and the Portuguese's strike would prove the difference. AaB had the ball in the back of the net before it was ruled out via the VAR for offside.
A resolute FCK defence held Aalborg at bay for the remainder of the game, with Kamil Grabara rarely tested.
And there were raucous scenes of celebrations at the full-time whistle as head coach Jacob Neestrup celebrated his first trophy in charge of the team.
