Neestrup: It's time to win the Cup
Jacob Neestrup says it's time to get the job done and secure the first of two trophies today, when his F.C. Copenhagen side take on AaB in the Danish Cup.
The Lions are also battling it out for the Danish Superliga title, and lead the table with three games left.
Attention now turns to this afternoon's battle in Parken. And Neestrup says his full focus is on clinching that trophy.
"Of course, you approach the final with the greatest seriousness you can," says Neestrup. "Now we have fought hard to get to the final, of course we have to go after the cup. It's the match that occupies us the most right now. These are trophies, and that's what F.C. Copenhagen is about, so it's natural that we should go for it.
"For our part, it's about us having the right performance. We have to hit the heights we reached when we played against FC Nordsjælland in the two semi-finals.
"I believe that some of the same opportunities will present themselves here. Some of the things we have to make sure of is to have the right intensity – both in attack and defence. The right mentality will be crucial for us too."
AaB were placed into the bottom half of the Danish Superliga when the league split this spring. They are battling to avoid relegation and are unbeaten in five.
"We haven't spent a single second looking at our previous match against AaB this year, because they are two very different teams that will take to the pitch tomorrow," adds Neestrup.
"We have of course watched AaB's last few matches to make sure we have a good handle on them. They are a team that arrives here with momentum and a team with experience, so we expect a tough match."
The Danish Cup final kicks off at 5pm in Parken.
