FCK Women presents three major talents
F.C. Copenhagen's women's team is today presenting some of the biggest talents in Danish football: Julie Børkop (17), Paula Groth-Hansen (16), and Olivia Midjord (17).
"These three young talents possess immense potential," says Rebecca Steele, Head of Women's Football.
"It is important for us to provide young players with the best opportunities to develop, and Julie, Paula, and Olivia will become part of F.C. Copenhagen's existing academy, where they will be on equal terms with our many young talents on the boys' side."
"The ambition and hope are that they can develop in step with F.C. Copenhagen's women's team as it moves up through the ranks," says Rebecca Steele.
The women's team will begin preparations for the new season in the 2nd division on Monday evening at 19:00 in Vanløse.
Julie Børkop
Julie comes from B.93 and plays central midfield with sublime technique and the ability to distribute and dominate the game.
"It is an exciting and ambitious project, where FCK gives me the opportunity to develop in a completely new environment," says Julie.
"I am sure it will be fun and educational. I will do everything I can to ensure we get off to a good start in the new season. At the same time, I hope that my contribution can also help further develop women's football in Copenhagen. It's going to be a fun journey that begins very soon."
Julie has played two U19 international matches for Denmark and previously 8 U16 and 11 U17 international matches.
Paula Groth-Hansen
Paula also comes from B.93 and is an energetic all-round player who can play several positions.
"It is a great opportunity for me, and I am very much looking forward to being one of the first women in FCK’s academy, where I can continue my development. It is also exciting to be part of something entirely new, so it will be great to get started with a new challenge."
Olivia Midjord
Olivia originally comes from Hareskov IF and has most recently played for FC Nordsjælland's U19 team. She is an offensive player with good vision, who can control the tempo of the games and win duels in the midfield.
"Of course, I have been following all the talk about FCK’s new women's team, and I look forward to becoming part of it and contributing with what I can. I have always dreamed of a professional career, and I believe this will be a good step in that direction."
Everyone at FCK welcomes Julie, Paula, and Olivia to F.C. Copenhagen.
