FCK Women sign two-time Danish champion Nowak
F.C. Copenhagen Women can confirm the signing of Julie Nowak, who returns to Denmark after a stint in Italian football.
The 28-year-old won two Danish titles with HB Køge earlier in her career and made her debut in the UEFA Women's Champions League, before heading to U.S. Sassuolo Calcio in 2022.
"I've chosen FCK first of all because I think it is an exciting project," says Nowak. "It is fantastic if we can get more of the big Danish clubs to invest in women's football.
"Personally, after my cruciate ligament injury, I need to get the joy of football again in a safe environment at home in Denmark with family and friends. And I think FCK is a perfect solution for me, as there are high ambitions here, but also room for me to start in the 2nd Division and steadily return to football.
"I am most looking forward to starting training with the squad and the new coaching staff - it will be exciting to be part of a project where I can also help shape the framework."
FCK's Head of Women's football, Rebecca Steele, adds: "We are very happy that Julie has chosen to return home to F.C. Copenhagen.
"She is an experienced player who can make a huge difference both on and off the pitch. She will contribute a lot on a daily basis, and we are proud to be able to attract a person of her ability to the club.
