Tom Høgli has extended his contract until the summer of 2017.
- It is a great honor to be here at the greatest club in Scandinavia and when they wanted me for another year, it was too difficult to say no, Høgli said.
- I’m very happy to continue here with the chances of winning the Danish championship and maybe playing Champions League football in the autumn. Also, me and my family are enjoying our stay in Copenhagen very much.
Manager Ståle Solbakken explained why FCK wanted to keep Høgli, who was also wanted by former club Tromsø IL in the Tippeliga.
- We are very happy that Tom will stay one more year. First of all because he is a very skilful player, who can cover both right and left back, but he is also important for the team because of his experience and calmness on and off the pitch, Ståle said.
Høgli, 31, joined FC Copenhagen from Club Brugge in the summer of 2014 and has so far played 53 games for the club.
