Neestrup: Too hectic towards the end

Despite playing 11 vs. 10 for an hour and having a large share of possession, the Lions were unable to turn an early Randers lead into a victory.

The efforts only resulted in a fantastic goal by Mohamed Elyounoussi midway through the second half, and the was also voted him Carlsberg Man of the Match, but he certainly would have preferred a victory instead on his 30th birthday.

Head coach Jacob Neestrup said about the match:

"We started reasonably well in the first ten minutes, though it wasn't fantastic, but it was acceptable.

"However, after we fell behind, there was a less good period, and when we came back from that towards the end of the half, we didn't quite have the flow in our play that we wanted.

"We began the second half well, and I think generally, we handled playing with a numerical advantage quite well until about the 75th minute.

"But then it was as if we stopped doing what we had been doing well, which had brought us back into the game with the equalizer, where we basically had them in the bag.

"But in the end, we became too hectic, and although we still set up some good attacks, we lacked the final quality in some situations.

"So overall, the quality of our play fluctuated too much throughout the match, and that's why I think it was a small step back after our performance against AGF. But we have seven points from three games, and we'll take it from there," Neestrup said.
